Warranty Information

TINT & FILM WAREHOUSE – WARRANTY

Tint and Film Warehouse has white-labelled Solyx® products for specific usage in the South African market alongside speciality Solyx® products. All products are referred to as “product(s)” or “film(s)” in the warranty below.

Material and Manufacturing Warranty
All Tint and Film Warehouse and speciality Solyx® films are free from defects in material and manufacture for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation.

Suitability and Thermal Glass Breakage
The purchaser and/or installer is responsible for determining the suitability of the selected film for the specific glass type and intended application. Tint and Film Warehouse shall not be held liable for any glass breakage, including but not limited to thermal stress breakage, that may occur following the installation of window film. Glass breakage may result from factors including, but not limited to, pre-existing glass defects, edge damage, poor glazing conditions, the type or thickness of glass, or the heat absorption characteristics of the film.

Customers are encouraged to request samples and conduct appropriate testing prior to installation to ensure the product is suitable for the intended application. Tint and Film Warehouse shall not be responsible for any costs associated with glass replacement, installation labour, or any consequential or incidental damages resulting from glass breakage.

Evaluation of Defective Film
If the film is suspected to be defective, Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd will request photos of the film and/or a sample of the applied film for evaluation purposes.

If the film is proven to be defective within the warranty period stated above, it is at Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd’s discretion to replace or repair the film or refund the purchase price of the film.

Natural Wear and Tear
The Company does not warrant against natural deterioration of the film or adhesive occurring from the date of installation. Exposure to heat, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, moisture, and other environmental factors may result in gradual degradation, including but not limited to discolouration, fading, or bubbling. Such deterioration shall be deemed normal wear and tear and shall not constitute a product defect under this warranty.

Installation, Labour, and Indirect Responsibility
In no event shall Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd be liable for the labour or installation costs of replacing the product except by arrangement with the installing Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd dealer.

Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd will take no responsibility for products that have been cut, repackaged, or sold indirectly. Note that Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd retains sole distribution of our white-labelled Solyx® and speciality Solyx® films.

Safe Application and Cleaning
Films can safely be applied to double insulated glass units, with the exception of Blackout films.

All films must be cleaned with a mild soapy water solution (using a small amount of Sunlight Liquid or Simglass®) and a soft cloth or paper towel. Do not use ammonia or alcohol-based products.

Limitation of Remedies and Liability
Except where prohibited by law, Tint and Film Warehouse (Pty) Ltd will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the film, whether direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential, regardless of the legal theory asserted, including contract, warranty, negligence, or strict liability.
